What do you usually do on weekends, Celia?

It’s always different, but sometimes we go to the park for a picnic.

What do you do in the park?

We all do different things. After lunch, I do yoga, Jake goes for a short walk, and Sammy plays frisbee with Piper.

That sounds relaxing. How long do you spend there?

Oh, we usually spend the whole afternoon there.

What do you do when you get back home?

Well, Sammy often cooks one of his specialties, so dinner is always great. Then Jake picks a game, and we play well into the evening.

Review

We have looked at many sentences that use the present simple. This use of the present simple is for activities that we do routinely, like habits and hobbies. We saw that the form of the verb only changes for the 3rd person (he, she and it). All the other forms (I, you, we, you plural and they) look the same.

We will review some of the verbs we looked at using I, she/he and they.

Let's begin! Repeat after me.

I play sports.

I often go to the park.

I do exercises.

I spend Saturdays with friends.

I usually listen to music in the evening.

She plays sports.

He often goes to the park.

She does exercises.

He spends Saturdays with friends.

She usually listens to music in the evening.

They play sports.

They often go to the park.

They do exercises.

They spend Saturdays with friends.

They usually listen to music in the evening.
